HAF provides free, compassionate support to homeowners seeking a mortgage modification or other foreclosure-prevention solution. Our team helps homeowners understand the process, organize required financial documents, prepare a complete application package, communicate with lenders and loan servicers, and navigate requests for additional information. While HAF cannot guarantee a lender’s decision, we work to help families submit stronger, more complete applications and pursue every appropriate opportunity to remain safely housed.

HAF supports efforts designed to protect vulnerable homeowners from unlawful mortgage servicing, foreclosure, and consumer-finance practices.
The Legal Defense Fund may support:
