Home Advocates Foundation (HAF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals and families affected by residential mortgage foreclosure find stability, preserve housing opportunities, and, whenever possible, reclaim the dream of homeownership.
Through housing assistance initiatives, foreclosure intervention programs, homeowner education, and legal-support efforts, HAF works to ensure that families facing housing instability are not left behind.

Housing Support
Home Advocates Foundation provides housing assistance for families affected by foreclosure, displacement, and housing instability. Subject to available funding and program capacity, HAF may help acquire and rehabilitate homes, create affordable rental opportunities based on household income, and support paths toward future homeownership or repurchase once a family is financially ready. Our goal is to keep families safely housed, restore stability, and help communities recover one home at a time.
How We Help
Loss Mitigation Assistance
Home Advocates Foundation provides free mortgage modification assistance to eligible homeowners facing financial hardship, delinquency, or foreclosure risk. HAF helps families understand the loss-mitigation process, organize required documents, complete application materials, track servicer requests and deadlines, and navigate communications with their lender or mortgage servicer. While HAF cannot guarantee approval or provide legal advice, our goal is to help homeowners pursue informed, organized, and sustainable options to preserve their homes.
Legal Initiatives
Through its Homeowner Legal Defense Fund, Home Advocates Foundation supports mission-aligned efforts that help vulnerable homeowners respond to unlawful or unfair mortgage servicing, foreclosure, debt-collection, title, and consumer-finance practices. Subject to available resources and eligibility, HAF may provide education, document-organizing support, referrals to qualified legal and housing professionals, and support for public-interest legal initiatives that promote homeowner protection, transparency, and accountability. HAF is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or guarantee legal outcomes.
